In 2024, nearly US$746 billion was raised by private equity funds in an environment where dry powder of the industry amounted to more than US$2 trillion, according to research data. Monies raised will lead to more deals that eventually will be exited through IPOs, reverse merger or trade sale. Further, portfolio companies of private equity firms always seek growth outside their home markets. China could be one of the targets for these portfolio companies.
